Dr. Basel Katerji was born and raised in Aleppo, Syria. He graduated from Aleppo University School of Medicine and completed his pediatrics residency at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV. With over eight years of experience working with children and young adults in office settings and at hospitals, Dr. Katerji has treated a wide range of pediatric illnesses, including Asthma and allergy, Diabetes, Obesity, and ADHD, to name a few. He is affiliated with medical facilities, including MacNeal Hospital, Advocate South Suburban Hospital, and AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet.
Dr. Katerji believes that promoting overall wellness is key to supporting a better physical health. He enjoys talking to families about healthy habits, focusing on increased levels of activity, and helping children improve their nutrition, which will boost their immune system and reflect on their whole wellbeing. Dedicated to delivering exceptional care to ensure children get the care they deserve, Dr. Katerji loves working with and serving the community. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son. His hobbies include hiking, reading, and traveling.


Tesbih oversees the communication development and planning for all of Lyons Pediatrics Care’s social content. In addition to her role at the clinic, Tesbih serves as assistant director of content strategy at the University of Chicago School of Booth, where she supports the planning, strategy, and execution of content across all of Booth’s marketing channels. Over the past several years, Tesbih worked in editing, writing, communications, and research. She served as an editor and content developer for several organizations and think tanks in Chicago and DC. Tesbih also serves as a contributing writer for several Arabic and English platforms and a freelance copy editor. Tesbih holds an MA in international relations from the University of Chicago and an editing certificate from the Graham School.
